Google hat eine neue Betaversion seines komplett Werbefreien Messengers "Google Talk" released. Mit Google Talk können Sie sich mit anderen Mitgliedern Nachrichten schickten oder per VoiP unterhalten. Um den Dienst nutzen zu können muss man ein GMail Konto besitzen. Kontakte aus diesem Konto werden automatisch übernommen. Da Google Talk auf das bewährte Japper Protokoll aufsetzt kann man sich auch mit anderen Diensten verbinden die dieses Protokoll nutzen. Ob Google die Software auch in der Finalen Version Werbefrei hält bleibt abzuwarten.


Was ist neu:

• Avatars now available for users to use
• Rolling over a contacts name will show their information just like in GTalk
• Add/View contact buttons
• Multiple chat appearances in settings. WOO HOO ? We now have themes! There are currently nine different themes to chose from so that you can dress up your chat windows a little bit
• The display alerts can now be closed by clicking on the close button on them Links in chats have no underline until you roll over them with your mouse
• If you change your status while in a conversation then your new status will be displayed
